Hi guys,
I've been so active, but never really introduced myself. So here goes!
My name is Kim and I'm Vietnamese from the United States. Please feel free to call me Kim. I just started law school, with the focus of International Law. I love to watch Chinese series and I love to surf the net. I'm on the internet pretty much every spare time I have. I'm a homebody b/c I get so lazy to out sometimes. ;D But when I do go out, I love to shop, travel, shoot pool, bowl, and go clubbing occasionally.
I became a Michelle fan after watching Lofty Water Verdant Bow. I actually first noticed Michelle in Golden Faith. My only reaction towards her at that time is she does look like Jessica's sister. I then watched LWVB a few weeks or month later, which made me pay attention to her. I instantly liked Michelle's presence and charm...but I wasn't a "fan" yet. I started to do some research on her. Everyone on the cinple forum was so helpful and gave me a lot of her information. So I got a list of her series and rented it all. Before I even realized it, I became her fan. Michelle was the first actress I liked in 7-8 years. I still haven't liked another since. My favorite Michelle series is World's Finest. She was incredible in that series!
I like Michelle for reasons beyond on-screen. When I found out Michelle graduated first of her high school and got a full scholarship to one of the top 5 liberal arts school in all of America, I was impressed. Beauty and Brains I thought. Besides that Michelle was studying Political Science, which is the best major ever! (hehe Just joking, b/c that was my major in colllege). Michelle has such elegance and charm. When she gives interviews as well as being interviewed, she speaks with such class and wit. I'm also impressed by her fluency in so many language.
I've been a Michelle fan since 2003. I'm a pretty loyal fan and will always support Michelle. It really saddens me to see so many of her fans just "disappear" or just kind of forgot about Michelle after she left TVB. But it does make me feel better that Michelle has lots of fans in Chinese forums and sites. The Mainland market is of course bigger. As long as she is well received and popular I'm fine with her English fans not being as active. Although I do miss the swarms of Michelle fans interaction like the good old days. Being that I'm Vietnamese I don't always get to watch her movies or series....that's the only downside to her not being in TVB for me. It doesn't always get dubbed into Vietnamese.
During her sexy image stage, when people were bashing her for her "sexy" look, I tried my best to defend Michelle whenever I could. I still don't see anything wrong with it. She wasn't posing in playboy or anything. She was simply maturing. But if you look at other female artists now, a lot of them have done lingerie and photos just like Michelle did. I think she kind of broke the ice for a lot of them. Now its not a big deal anymore. Well...that's just my two cents.
I'm so glad to have met you guys here. I'm very grateful for this wonderful site. Without this site, I don't know if I would be one of her "disappearing" fans as well. It's the only Michelle resource I have.
