Production: Ye Xuan Productions Producer: Michelle Ye Released: Tentatively, Oct 2013 Episodes: 25 Genre: Ancient Role: Huo Xiao Yu Casts: Raymond Lam, Michelle Ye, Cheng Cheng, Tammy Chen, Kingdom Yuen
Legend of the Purple Hairpin takes place in the Tang dynasty, a time when Chinese art, fashion, music, dance, and novel inventions were at their highest peak. Raymond Lam portrays the heroic Nalan Dong, known as the “Yellow-Clothed One”, who falls in love with beautiful dancer Huo Xiaoyu, played by Michelle Ye. However, Dong’s best friend Li Yi, played by Cheng Cheng (程诚), is also deeply in love with Xiaoyu. Choosing brotherhood over love, Dong decides to step down in his pursuit of love.
The drama is a loose adaptation of the classic Ming dynasty opera.
"After Chinese New Year, I have to start writing on Michelle Ye's Tang Dynasty songs and dances. If that succeed, then I will start writing the scripts around mid-year."
"I will be in Japan most of the time during March, April and May of next year. I also need to hurry on Michelle’s Tang dynasty romance/scenery [script]. But, I have to at least visit the filming set in Mainland."
So.... still not sure if it's gonna be a TVB series or not
^Ouuu... I'm excited!! =) She danced a bit in EH performing that White Snake opera. Does that count? LOL. And from the MVs I have seen, she also performed some kind of dancing in The Lost Butterfly, too? Really wish it was with Raymond... =/
Several months ago Michelle Ye mentioned that there's a chance that she will coop with Wallace again for a drama. Yesterday, Jia Wei Nan, TVB golden screenwriter posted on his weibo Michelle has recommended Wallace to him. He also believes Wallace does suit the role. He is writing an outline of the drama and will let appropriate people do the follow-up and contacts. He hopes it will come true. @賈偉南HK ： 葉璇一開始便提議霍先生，我亦覺合適，待我整理了詳細的故事大綱，便交由有關單位去聯絡，當然還有很多事情 要配合，希望能成事啦.
Pardon me if I sound emotional but lololol I've had numerous dreams of Wallace and Michelle collaborating again these past few months. In my dream I thought I was really dreaming (and okay it turned out to be a dream but still).
I do hope to see them work together again (very, very much), even if they'll not be an on-screen couple T_T
Lololol here's hoping Wallace accepts the role, if he is being offered x:
I feel like a Global Supreme for nothing lol. Major examinations are over haha, am gonna be rather *free* for the next 3 months. Probably gonna work on some simple Michelle graphics again? Let me know if there's anything needed
My love for them hasn't quite died down yet XD In fact I think I'm gonna rewatch WF soon heh.
In any case, it is good that Michelle is in another period drama. I hope they make her realllll pwetty. She looked cute with bangs/fringe in EH, but guess that would be a little too kiddish for her role, whatever it is going to be.
I attemped the Lady Yang show for Michelle, but it seemed too draggy so I gave up x:
And oooo from how Jia Wei Nan puts it, it seems like Michelle's gonna be the protagonist.. hopefully? 'Romance' too It is nice to see Mich in love!
(Of course, deep down I hope that if Wallace gets a role, it would be her love interest but mehhh, I don't want my hopes to get dashed. Read on the above forum link that he may not be accepting any more roles.. T_T )
Scriptwriter Jia Wei Nan says that he received an email from Michelle today saying that Michelle has finished reading the storyline up to 10 episodes. He will probably sent the rest of the script to her since he wrote up to episode 27 already.
It has been confirmed that Michelle will produce and star in 'the legend of the purple hairpin' with RAYMOND LAM as the male lead. The first RM collaboration after 10 years!!!! So excited!!!! (source: Michelle's weibo).
