October 3, 2006 is the date I first registered for MYR forum. I can't believe it has been three years already!
After Michelle left TVB, her fans started to dwindle or at least become more quiet. Her cinple forum began to be less active. Translated news and updates at Cinple forum was almost at a zero. Cinple was pretty much the only English resource I had
THEN! almost like an answer to my prayers, Rain and her staff created Michelle Ye's Realm and the forum. I wasn't a very active member on the forum back then (surprising I know, considering all the posts I racked up now). I only posted every so often. Back then MYR forum was pretty active. When cinple forum finally closed, MYR was a safe haven for Michelle fans.
I love this forum! It provided me with translated news, updates, information. It was a part of my daily routine to visit. After some time, her fans got more quiet. So I decided to kick it up a notch and started to become more active. I've also gotten to know so many fans from all over the world. I even had the pleasure of befriending some of them. MYR really did have a family vibe to it. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
In late September 2007, Rain approached me to be a moderator to help delete those pesky spammers . I was so honored that Rain and Sayuri trusted me enough to watch over the forum, esp when Rain was away for work travel. I was on the forum enough already, so I might as well make myself useful...right?
Little did I know that becoming a moderator would lead me to become besties with Rain. I remember Rain asking me for my SN so we could chat. Chatting with people I met online was something really new to me. I thought it was strange....let alone becoming friends with one. I only had AIM and she only had Messenger...so it didn't work out anyways. But I did meet her in the chatroom, and we started to get to know each other pretty well. B/c of her I dl-ed messenger and she dl-ed Aim...lol Rain helped me realize that chatting with people you never met isn't so weird. who knew you could become so close to someone you never met. B/c of her I started to open up my heart and mind to others and started to talk with other Michelle fans like Zamera, Baby-G, Hai-Yen, and many others. I'm so glad I did! One of the most precious gift I got from MYR is all the friendships I have received. Although, some friends have become busy with school or work, or maybe they grew out of the "fan phase." I still cherish the friendships we shared. I always get excited when an old friend pops up on the forum to say hi.
I have so many fond memories here at MYR, from the late nights on this forum, to having like 8 people in the chatbox, laughing, joking, birthday celebrations for Rain, getting excited over Michelle updates. These past three years really have been great.
I am still a huge Michelle fan and forever will be. One of the main reasons why my love for Michelle is so everlasting is b/c I became a fan of Michelle not only b/c of her acting or her beauty. My admiration for her stems from inside out. It's her persona, her intelligence, personality, her wittiness, and the list could go on. These kinds of admirations last a lifetime never fading.
